About Me

Hi, I’m Katelyn!

Two years ago, I was working at a job that was no longer the right fit for me. I was giving every ounce of my energy everyday while trying to live up to the unrealistic expectations of my supervisors. I was burnt out; my body was bearing the brunt of my stress, and I found myself questioning daily whether this was all I could expect from my life.

As this cycle continued, I found my anxiety levels rising, I slipped into a depression, and my body was screaming for me to slow down. I found myself having to take sick days every month because I was either too physically or mentally (or sometimes both) depleted to get out of bed.

I found that my whole life was beginning to revolve around surviving the workday and week to get home and rest, which consisted of spending every possible minute laying down and watching tv while doom scrolling.

Deep down, I knew that I wasn’t living up to my potential. I knew there had to be more to life than my job and that this lifestyle wasn’t healthy for me. I was hardly moving my body, struggled to keep up with chores and making nourishing meals, and I didn’t have the energy to spend time with friends. And more frustratingly, everything in life was feeling like an obligation.

I also realized that as isolating as it felt, I was not alone in feeling this way. I noticed that so many others were feeling completely overwhelmed in their lives and were spending all their energy managing the expectations of others while reserving zero energy for themselves.

As women, we tend to undersell ourselves and what we can do while putting everyone else’s needs above our own. So many of us know in our hearts that something needs to change but everywhere we look we’re told the solution is found in doing more – working harder, exercising more, eating cleaner… but when you’re already exhausted and overwhelmed, the last thing you want to do is add more to your plate.

There had to be a better way. We all deserve to thrive.

This led me to change course and get curious about what my ideal life would look like and figure out how to make it happen. What I realized is that thriving actually looked like slowing down, working hard at my job while creating boundaries to ensure that I had energy left for myself at the end of the day, and to discover hobbies I loved.

Having overcome the overwhelm in my own life to create a peace and joy-filled life, I decided to complete my mental wellness coaching certification so I could help others achieve it too!

I currently offer a 1:1 coaching program in which I help my clients create a clear vision of what they desire for their lives, employ time-management strategies that allow them to honour their priorities while maintaining realistic expectations for what can be accomplished in a day, and gain tools to manage stress more effectively.
