
Have you ever considered how much power the word “yet” contains?
It can be easy to focus in on how far you are from a goal and tell ourselves things like “I’m not making as much money as I’d thought I’d be” or “My mental wellness isn’t where I’d like it be” or “I’m not living in the house or neighbourhood I’d like to be in”.
There are so many examples for each of us in our own lives, I’m sure you can think of a couple right now.
But what if you added YET to the end of those statements?
I’m not making as much money as I thought I’d be YET
My mental wellness isn’t where I’d like it to be YET
I’m not living where I’d like to be YET
Do you see what happens?
It brings so much more hope! Instead of focussing on what you don’t have or what you haven’t achieved in the time you’d hoped you would, you’re reminded that it’s possible and can (and likely will) still happen for you - it may just take a little more time than you’d thought.
My challenge for you this week is to look at the things you’ve been feeling discouraged about in your life and start adding “yet” to the end of it. Remind yourself daily that you’re just not there YET and see how this changes your outlook on things this week.
Remember, you ARE capable of big things, it just might take a little bit longer than you had thought or hoped. Don’t give up! It could very well be just around the corner 💛
